Contact: Jaime Greene

State Rep. Jaime Greene this week met with Taiwanese consuls at the state Capitol to celebrate the adoption of her resolution recognizing the partnership between Michigan and Taiwan.

The House adopted House Resolution 289, introduced by Greene, which declares April 21, 2026, as Michigan and Taiwan Partnership Appreciation Day. The day celebrates our shared commitment to democracy and freedom, along with our economic ties through trade and innovation.

Greene was joined on the House floor by Taiwanese Consulate Director General Dennis Yen-Feng Lei and Vice Consul Jay Lin Chia-Ming.

“This declaration recognizes more than just economic ties,” said Greene (R-Richmond). “Taiwan has been and continues to be a leader on global public health, human rights, and regional stability. This impact can be felt right here in Michigan. Our Taiwanese American community plays a very important role in enriching our culture and state economy.”
